Favorite Jacob Riis Photograph

This is a photo by a great photographer of the late 1880's name Jacob Riis. I like this photo because the great use of rule of thirds, as well as the black and white coloration. I also just think that the composition of the photo is very visually pleasing.

Photographs of Favorite Photographers

I love all different kinds of photography and for that reason I chose three very different photographers. The first is Jim Shoemaker, who photographs beautiful, colorful unusual landscapes. Secondly I chose Shazeen Samad, a portrait photographer, who creates amazing contrast and composition in his photos. Lastly, I chose Chema Madoz, who likes to play with shadows and create visually complex and confusing images.

Three Best Photos from Framing (Project #1)

These three photos are my favorites from our classes framing project because they all showcase a  different photography style well. The first is a picture of green and red peppers from the Farmers Market. It shows the technique of Using Foreground Elements as the focus is obviously on the peppers (in the foreground) and the background is blurry. The second picture is of a bright building in downtown Portland. It shows the technique of Diagonals, because the orange supports of the building are outstretched diagonally, creating a visually pleasing image. The third picture is a portrait of one of my best friends, Corey. It is a Close Up because I got legitimately very close to her face, focusing on her eye.
